Perms are never a good idea. Well, unless you're a middle aged woman.

A perm is a bad idea. Firstly because it was only popular in the 80's, secondly because it does a lot of damage to your hair and thirdly because it looks horrible when you are trying to grow it out. The chemicals are really strong. they hurt my eyes evenn when i go into the hairdressing salon when someone else is getting a perm but when i got mine it was really bad. My nose was hurting even until the evening. It hurt so much i didn't even eat dinner. The smell is horrible. the chemicals must be really strong to make your hair permanatly curly even after many washes!

a lot will happen. the chemicals will destroy your baby fine hair, weigh it down and you will start to loose some. I wouldn't do it if I were you (speaking from expierence) the perm...was the biggest mistake of my 6th grade career ha...and I don't get why people still want them! lol

If your hair is straight, I would go with a body perm first.....with the largest rods...this will give your hair lots of body....then if you like it but would like it curlier, they wait 2 weeks and use the smaller size rods.
